Deliver Them from Purgatory

My Jesus, by the sorrows Thou didst suffer in Thine agony in the Garden, in Thy scourging and crowning with thorns, on the way to Calvary, in Thy crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken; do Thou deliver them from the terrible torments they endure; call them and admit them to Thy most sweet embrace in paradise.    Amen.

For the Most Forgotten Soul

O Lord God Almighty, I beseech Thee by the Precious Body and Blood of Thy divine Son Jesus, which He Himself on the night before His Passion gave as meat and drink to His beloved Apostles and bequeathed to His Holy Church to be the perpetual Sacrifice and life-giving nourishment of His faithful people, deliver the souls in purgatory, but most of all, that soul which was most devoted to this Mystery of infinite love, in order that it may praise Thee therefor, together with Thy Divine Son and the Holy Spirit in Thy glory for ever.   Amen.

Prayer for Deceased Parents

O God, Who hast commanded us to honor our father and mother, look in the tenderness of Thy mercy upon the souls of my father and mother and forgive them their sins, and grant unto me the joy of seeing them again in the glorious light of everlasting life. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Dead

God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in your presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for my family, relatives and friends, and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever.         Amen.

A PRAYER IN A COUNTRY CEMETERY

DEAR Lord, here lie in their last rest, the boys and girls, the men and women that worked on the land. They knew the meaning of hard work. They knew the joy and peace that is the product of labor. Now we trust they know the peace and happiness of everlasting life with You.
They watched the sun rise often, winter and summer, over these hills and fields. They worked hard by its light, and turned willingly to their rest at its setting. Now they walk in the light of a Sun that knows no setting. Lord, if they are still in the waiting room of heaven--in purgatory--bring them speedily to the light of Your peace and the happiness of Your presence.
These men and women all their lives long labored to supply the food and drink necessary to sustain human life. Now, or soon, they enjoy in all its fullness the life that You, Lord, came down to earth to give men, and to give more abundantly.
Dear Lord, bless us who labor now in the fields and hills where these dear dead have worked. Grant that we may remember them with charity and kindness, walking reverently in the ways that they have left behind them. Grant, too, that we may finally meet these men and women, these boys and girls, in the eternal mansions that You are even now preparing for us.  Amen.

DAILY PRAYER FOR
THE HOLY SOULS

Immortal God, holy Lord, Father and Protector of all You have created, we raise our hearts to You today for those who have passed out of this mortal life.

In Your loving mercy, Father of all, be pleased to receive them in Your heavenly company, and forgive the failings and faults they may have done from human frailty.

Your only Son, Christ, our Saviour, suffered so cruelly that He might deliver them from the second death.By his merits may they share in the glory of His victory over sin and death.

For all the faithful who have died we pray, but in particular for those dear to us, parents, relatives and friends. nor do we forget all who did good to us while on earth, who helped us by their prayers, sacrifice and example. We pray also for any who may have done us harm, and stand in special need of Your forgiveness.

May the merits and prayers of our Virgin Mother, Mary, and those of all the Angels and Saints, speak for us and assist them now.
This we ask in Christ's name.  Amen.

cont..............................

Through Thy most cruel death,
O Lord, deliver them.
Through Thy five most holy wounds,
O Lord, deliver them.
In the day of judgment,
We sinners, beseech Thee, hear us.
Thou Who forgavest Magdalen,
and didst grant the prayer of the thief,

we beseech Thee, hear us.
That Thou wouldst be pleased to deliver
the souls of our parents, relations, friends, and benefactors, from the pains of hell,
we beseech Thee, hear us.
That Thou wouldst be pleased to have mercy on those of whom no special remembrance is made on earth,
we beseech Thee, hear us.
That Thou wouldst be pleased to grant them all the pardon and remission of their sins,
we beseech Thee, hear us.
That Thou wouldst be pleased to receive them into the company of the blessed,
we beseech Thee, hear us.
King of awful majesty,
we beseech Thee, hear us.
Son of God, we beseech Thee,
hear us.
Lamb of God,
who takest away the sins of the world,
grant unto them eternal rest.
Lamb of God,
who takest away the sins of the world,

grant unto them eternal rest.
Lamb of God,
who takest away the sins of the world,

grant unto them rest everlasting.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
Lord, have mercy,
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy,
From the gate of hell,
deliver their souls, O Lord.
O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

LET US PRAY:

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant unto the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins; that, by pious supplications, they may obtain the pardon
which they have always desired. Grant this, O God, Who livest and reignest for ever and ever,
Amen.

O eternal God, Who, besides the general precept of charity, hast commanded a particular respect for parents, kindred, and benefactors;
grant, we beseech Thee, that, as they were the instruments by which Thy providence bestowed on us our birth, education and innumerable other blessings, so our prayers may be the means to obtain for them a speedy release from their excessive sufferings, and admittance to Thine infinite joys. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, And let the perpetual light shine upon them.

May they rest in peace.

Amen.
