A slender gray bird with white patches on wings and tail. Wing patches prominent in
flight.

Range: Breeds from northern California across the USA to Nova Scotia. Winters in the
southern part of this area.
We've been blessed to have a Northern Mockingbird calling our backyard home for two years
now. He/she tend to be a bit aggressive towards other birds but gains many points for it's
constant attacks on any squirrels passing through. It's also been a joy to listen to this
Mockingbird going through it's song list. He does Chickadees, Nuthatches, Cardinals,
Robins, Titmice and even a Yellow shafted Flicker. Been trying to teach it to 'wolf'
whistle with only minor success.
