After seeing mostly House sparrows it's really refreshing to see as handsome a sparrow as the White - crowned. Believe me they stand out in a crowd of sparrows. They normally travel with the White - throated Sparrow during migration but we've only seen these birds separately. They are not common in the Eastern USA.
