| Caterpillar | Dark green with yellow stripes. Black tubercles on hump behind head. |

| Broods | 3 or 4 broods |
| Habitat | Wood edges, riversides and forests with hackberries. |
| Range | Great Lakes east to central New England, south through Rockies and East to Mexico. |
| Notes | This has to be the strangest butterfly I ever seen. Seen it fluttering erratically and knew right away it was something I never seen before. I didn't notice the 'snout' till I focused in with the camera. |
